How do I prepare for a session?
First of all, prepare a plan. Make sure you know what you’ll be doing in that session. But be willing to change the plan based on the member’s needs, abilities, learning style, etc.
Next, make sure you look the part. This will help set an appropriately professional tone. If you’re doing a fitness session, wear athletic gear; if you’re doing a life coaching session, it might be more appropriate for you to be in business casual attire. Plus, looking good (and feeling good about how you look) can give you a little extra confidence boost.
Lastly, make sure that your space is set and that you’re ready to begin on time: equipment in place (if relevant); device ready to go with camera set up to catch what you’ll be doing and audio able to clearly capture what you’re saying; lighting that allows you to be seen clearly. We recommend that you do a sound check with your camera (e.g., record a quick video of yourself walking around your space and talking for a few seconds) to make sure that you can be seen and heard clearly.
